Leapling Films is a Manchester based independent production company, founded by leap year baby Chris Lane.

 

The word 'Leapling' is used to describe somebody who was born on the 29th February.

 

A member of The Production Guild, Chris' work has been seen by millions worldwide.

Credits as a Producer include the short films A Father’s Day and Inertia. The former screened at 160 film festivals and received 4 million views online whilst the latter recently won Best Drama Short at Out On Film, making it eligible for the 2022 Academy Awards.

 

The company is currently developing a slate of feature films with a focus on stories set in the regions.​
